Delta Dental Insurance Update –
Several of you have brought to our attention that the plants (Y-12, X-10, etc.) are giving retirees the option to enroll in dental and vision insurance plans. Our understanding is that the plan they are offering is a Delta Dental PPO plan. Dr. Lenihan is a participating provider for the Delta Dental Premier plans. So, what is the difference?
Because we are a participating Delta provider, Dr. Lenihan applies an in-network adjustment to all Delta Dental claims, PPO and Premier. Although the adjustment amount is the same for both plans, the Delta Dental payment amounts for PPO plans tend to be less than the payment amounts for the Premier plans, and you may still be required to pay a small portion of your charges.
It is a good idea for you to weigh the costs of your expected premiums against the cost of your usual treatment. If you have any questions, Deanna will be happy to assist you as much as she can.
